The demand for smart, green and adaptive homes is increasing! Whether you're an agent or an appraiser, you need to know about these unique property features affecting home values.
After attending this session, agents will be able to price smart and green homes and explain benefits to buyers—including energy efficiency tax breaks. Likewise, with the expanded section on energy-efficient items on the new Fannie Mae forms in mind, appraisers will learn to adjust for these feature differences.
This course will also explore the characteristics of universal design in housing—defined as products and environments to be usable by all people, to the greatest extent possible, without the need for adaptation or specialized design—as the demand for increased accessibility continues.
This course is part of the Community Development Committee's Sustainability Day on October 6. The class will be followed by the MAAR Sustainability Fair at 1 p.m.
